Catherine has a predominantly family practice, but also accepts instructions in civil cases. Catherine has a wealth of experience in public law family matters, acting for parents, guardians and local authorities alike and has appeared in complex care matters such as those involving international elements and fabricated illness. In 2012 Catherine spent a year as an in-house advocate for a London borough, undertaking work in child protection, education and judicial reviews. In the civil law disciplines, her emphasis is in housing and property disputes, social welfare and personal injury.

Catherine prides herself on her common sense approach to her cases, but is also known for her people skills, ability to understand her clients' needs and her commitment to delivering effective advice. Catherine has delivered training in social welfare law to local authorities.

Catherine is qualified to accept instructions under the Bar Council Public Access scheme.

RE O (A CHILD)[2013] EWCA Civ 1773 (Appeal by a maternal grandmother against the making of a prohibited steps order alongside a special guardianship order preventing her return with the child to her country of residence).


G .v. G [2006] EWCA Civ 1670 (Appeal against sentence following committal - 12 months excessive, reduced to 8. Judge had erred by failing to allow Counsel to mitigate.)
