Third Six Pupillage
Three Dr Johnson’s Buildings is looking to recruit a Third Six Pupil commencing in Autumn 2021 to meet the demands of an increasing workload in Family Law.
We are a long-established, friendly and diverse Family and Civil chambers in the heart of Temple with a strong history of recruiting tenants from pupils. We have an open door policy within chambers and we pride ourselves on having a supportive environment for junior members of the Bar. We highly value all pupils and strive to ensure that they are fully supported to develop a busy and fulfilling practice. Third six pupils are allocated a mentor.
Third six pupils are not expected to make any financial contribution towards Chambers during their third six pupillage and can expect to retain all earnings received during their third six pupillage. Chambers does not offer a pupillage award however there is presently a surplus of family work in chambers and third six pupils can expect to earn well.
Please send a CV and covering letter by email to Amy Stout at firstname.lastname@example.org with a minimum of two references from recent pupil supervisors and two examples of written work, suitably anonymised. Please also provide an anonymised print out of your diary during the time that you have been undertaking advocacy in your second six, to show us the types of cases in which you have been instructed and the frequency of your court appearances.
Applications will be treated in confidence and will be objectively assessed against our marking criteria.

We are committed to ensuring that we adhere to the Bar Council’s principles in respect of Fair Recruitment when considering applications for mini-pupillage. Please see our Equality and Diversity Policy, here for further details.
