Three
Dr Johnson’s
Buildings

THREE DR JOHNSON'S BUILDINGS is a member of OLPAS, so any application for a first pupillage will have to be via the OLPAS machinery. Our current policy is to offer one 12 month pupillage only, rather than a first or second six month one; and at present we are only offering one pupillage every other year. We currently have a pupil who started in October 2005.

These pupillages are funded. During the first six months, the pupil will receive a grant of £5,000 payable by monthly instalments, plus the refund of any travelling expenses incurred while accompanying the pupil supervisor.. During the second six months, we guarantee to make the pupil's receipts up to £5,000 over that period.

The pupil's year will normally be divided into three periods of four months, each spent with a different supervisor. There will be plenty of opportunity, however, to accompany other members of Chambers to court or in conferences, so that a comprehensive view of the work of Chambers is obtained. The aim will be to provide the pupil with a good coverage of both Family Law and Civil work, the particular emphasis being largely determined by the pupil's own preference.

We also take third six pupils from time to time, and any application should be addressed to the Head of Chambers. Third six pupillages are not funded.

RECRUITMENT OF TENANTS. Vacancies will normally be advertised, but we are occasionally able to consider suitable applicants if the need arises. Enquiries about possible tenancies should be addressed, in confidence, to the Head of Chambers.
