Civil and General Common Law
- Standing Legal Counsel to High Commission of Government of Antigua and Barbuda

- High Court applications including commercial injunctions; default; setting aside; summary judgment; bankruptcy.
- eg RZ (a firm) .v. Mrs S A striking out application against my client, the Defendant. Defence had been struck out for failure to comply with an order for request for further information. Case involved properties in Chelsea area worth in excess of £10m. Substantive action involved claim by solicitors for unpaid fees. Successfully defended the strike out application despite client’s repeated non-compliance.

H Nursing Homes Ltd Represented H in bankrupcy proceedings brought by Inland Revenue. Succeeded in obtaining the necessary time to allow H to restructure its debt and financing with a leading bank.

Re the Estate of PS Involved a very sensitive family dispute over the administration and distribution of the deceased’s estate

- Consumer and Building Disputes/ Interpretation of Contracts
- eg Government of Y .v. R Case concerned an agreement between and Caribbean Government Department and an international company based in England for the purchase of exhibition space in Geneva for a period of three years. Client Government Department wanted to withdraw from year two and three of contract. Case involved interpretation of contracts, state immunity and conflict of laws. Following my advice, the client was able to withdraw successfully from the contract.

Mrs R .v. B Ltd The client Mrs R had mobility problems and purchased a bathroom from B Ltd. Some 15 months later she still did not have a working bathroom in her home and B Ltd had failed to respond properly or at all to complaints. Succeeded in winning substantial damages and costs on indemnity basis.

- Landlord & Tenant (including housing disputes; Leasehold Valuation Tribunals; Commonhold and Leasehold (extensions of leases); Boundary Disputes
- eg Mr P .v. Mr H A boundary dispute between neighbours, turning on the expert evidence from both sides which was in conflcit as to where the true boundary lay. Case involved a great deal of factual analysis and expert cross examination.

- Housing. Sound experience and knowledge of working for both landlords (local authority and commercial) and tenants in the area of housing disputes.

- Trusts of Land - s.14 TLATA 1996, including Property of Cohabitees; Resulting & Constructive Trusts; Proprietary Estoppel; Undue Influence.
- Miss H .v. Mr N Client Miss H applied under s14 TLATA 1996 for declaration as to her beneficial interest in a property. She had resided in the property with Mr N for 10 years, but had not contributed to the purchase price. Succeeded in establishing a half share in the £350,000 house, relying on the course of dealing criteria - in this case indicating a 50/50 intention.

- Specialising in representation of Caribbean Government Legal Departments
- eg Govt of Atlantis .v. B Council and CT Ltd Acted for the Govt of Atlantis in this claim by B Council that my client had sold land to CT Ltd in breach of B Council’s constitutional rights. Case involved elements of contract, land law and constitutional and administrative law.
